About: Headliner

I was born in Monterrey and I have spent most of my life here in the San Carlos region of Costa Rica.

I started to work in tourism in 1996 as a driver for a tourism company. I worked hard to learn to speak English as a driver and finished the course to become a professional naturalist guide in 2000.

I worked for tourism companies until 2006, after building a name and reputation I followed my desire to provide more personalized service to tourists and nature enthusiasts, so I left the commercial tour company to do freelance work. Working freelance gave me the freedom to customize my services to offer my clients unique experiences.

In 2007 I started my relationship with Leaves and Lizards. I manage all of the professional guide services from my pool of freelance guides, I do almost all of the horse guiding for the company and co-facilitate for Debbie and Eponicity in the equine facilitated learning program. I work with student groups, families and children. I organize rural tourism experiences for people interested in a closer look at real life in Costa Rica as well.

As the equine program and horse activities grew at Leaves and Lizards, so did my ability to see the horses in a new way, outside of the cultural ideas about horses. I now see horses as healers for people and how they support us in understanding our connection with a natural way of life, a natural way to be with ourselves and with others. They are wonderful teachers. I have worked with Debbie and her associates in the Eponicity program since 2012.

Besides providing services for Leaves Lizards I organize all of the logistics and provide guide services for Cultural Connections, a company from New York, that organizes high school trips to Costa Rica.

I am passionate about what I do and look forward to the growing into what lies ahead for me!
